Building Oregon's genomic library.
Developing genetic tools to monitor wildlife.

As our human population increases, we are encroaching on wild areas and causing declines in biodiversity. To manage threatened areas and the species they support, we need to develop accurate, inexpensive, and noninvasive tools to monitor wildlife. We are developing a georeferenced reference sequence library and creating molecular monitoring tools to help managers and conservationists achieve Oregon's monitoring needs.
